Welcoming you back safely

Dear friends of The Eastbury

We really hope you, your family and friends have managed to stay safe and well during this extremely testing period.

Life has changed for us all over the past few months and we, like you, have been doing our best to understand and develop the new ‘norm’.

We are looking forward to welcoming guests back on Friday 10th July.

We really can’t wait to welcome you all back and whilst observing our stringent safety measures, aim to create the same warm welcome that we have always strived to deliver.

On behalf of all of the Eastbury team, we would like to thank you for all the countless messages of support and the patience that you have shown us during this challenging time.

Ian Crighton – General Manager

We are taking new hotel bookings from Friday 10th July onwards. We are currently experiencing strong demand for weekends in July and August so we would strongly recommend making your booking as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

We are currently taking Lunch and Dinner reservations for non-hotel guests from Friday 10th July. Our afternoon tea service will start again on Monday 13th July. If the weather is fine, we will serve these on the bistro and terrace garden dining spaces which have been socially distanced.

Please contact our reception team if you would like to book a table on 01935 813131

It is essential you book online or call ahead to book in advance. With reduced availability as we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate walk-ins and would hate to turn you away.

If you have an existing Lunch or Dinner booking in July, our Reservations team will be in touch to discuss your reservation.

Our fully refurbished, period stone three bedroom cottage will be available to rent from August 16th. Beautifully appointed with its own private south facing garden, outdoor hot tub and barbecue. A real home from home this summer. Minimum stay is two nights. Contact us for further information.

As much as we would love to open the Eastbury Spa, the Government has not yet released any guidelines or policies on the safe re-opening and running of spa facilities, so the current plan is that the Spa will remain closed until further notice. We will be reviewing any information as it is released and will keep you updated as we know more.

We have just opened bookings for 2021 so that you can get planning all those special occasions or last-minute getaways that you have missed with family and friends this year! 2021 room rates have been fixed at 2020 prices for all bookings made before 31st July 2020,  after this date, rates are subject to increase.

We will offer a minimal contact check in and check out on request, with check in forms emailed to you on your arrival date and filled in online, final bills emailed on the morning of departure and payment taken over the phone or charged to the card on file. Our reception desk has been fitted with a Perspex shield and we kindly request that all guests use the hand sanitiser available on the desk on arrival. A member of staff will direct you to your room, where your keys (freshly sanitised) will be waiting for you, whilst keeping a distance that you are comfortable with.

Where availability allows, we will be proactively offering room moves and upgrades to the rooms we have which have their own entrances and are isolated from the other areas of the hotel. Our standalone accommodation units include our five Victorian Garden Potting Shed suites, and our Yew, Willow, Tamarix and Rowan rooms.

We will provide anti-bacterial soaps and sanitiser in all bedrooms

We have arranged the tables in our restaurant and bar area to increase the space between guests, we will be keeping this in place when we first re-open. To allow us to seat all of you we will be making some changes to our restaurant reservation policy and service times.

Breakfast will be extended by 1 hour, now 7.30am to 10.30am. Time slots may be allocated on busy mornings

We were already a spacious and spread out destination, with separate areas where you can sit. spacious residents drawing and morning rooms, outside Bistro, terrace and private dining Pod give the option of even more privacy and seclusion during your stay. Other than the person you have chosen to travel with, there is no need for you to be within 2 metres of other guests or staff for a prolonged period.

Room service will be made available to guests on request during this period. Deliveries can be arranged to your door for breakfast. lunch and dinner. We have created new menus for our room service options including picnic hampers for you to take with you on your adventures.

We have held a 5-star hygiene rating and always adhere to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. We are of course putting even more effort into this area due to the current situation.

Over 80% of our guests arrive by car and without the use of public transport, during this period we are advising all guests to avoid using public transport to reach us. This minimises the chance of infection en-route and subsequent transmission before the display of symptoms.

All staff will be requested to complete a short questionnaire before commencing each shift relevant to the symptoms of Coronavirus, if any symptoms are present, however minor, they will be asked to isolate themselves from site until advice states it is safe to do otherwise.

Additional procedures will stay in place around staff rotas and scheduling to ensure staff are also not spending prolonged periods of time in close contact with each other, again reducing the risk of group transmission within the hotel. All staff have been advised on communicating any potential contact with infected persons to us immediately.

Many common-sense changes have also been made within the hotel such as doors being left open, adjustments to table settings and increased training and awareness on hand washing and personal hygiene. For example our breakfast buffet will be to order with the items you would like prepared individually for you and hotel residents will not be asked to sign bills for each purchase.

There are no air circulation systems in use within the hotel which would aid the dispersal of airborne viral particles.

COVID-19 is an ‘enveloped’ virus and as such is within a group of viruses deemed easier to kill, whilst outside of a living body, through the use of an effective sanitising agent.

We use a sanitiser accredited to BS EN 1276 and BS EN 13697 standard. This product is currently being used for all cleaning throughout the hotel, tables, bar tops, floors, and each and every other surface you can think of. In addition, we have staff using this product regularly throughout the day on all high use touch points within the hotel, door handles, light switches etc. Each room is cleaned, and therefore sanitised with this product.

  • All linen within the hotel is washed commercially at high temperature with a sanitising product.

If you do have any further questions, please feel free to get in contact.
